How do I send a Concern Gift?
It's easy! Just choose a gift you think your friend, relative or colleague would like. For instance, if you know someone who loves animals, why not buy a gift of a piglet or goat in their name? Just order online or simply call 1.800.59.CONCERN.
Where does the money from the gifts go?
The money goes into our four program areas of focus - education, livelihoods, health or emergency. These are the sectors that Concern prioritizes as part of our goals to address the root causes of poverty.
If I buy a goat, do you give goats to families?
Your money would go towards our livelihoods program and a family would get a goat or another animal, seeds or tools that are the priorities for that family. You can be assured that families will receive the animals or tools that are needed most.
What will my friends or family get?
You can choose to send them either an e-card or a mail card. If you choose to send them an e-card, they will receive an e-mail telling them how to view it. The e-card will be personalized with your own message and there will be more information about the gift on it.
E-cards are great because they're quick to send and cost less to create. Sending an e-card is a very immediate way to let a friend or family member know what you have done in their name to help change someone else's life in a very meaningful way. However if an e-card is not your first choice, you can give them a card which you can send in the mail instead. We'll mail you a gift card with a picture of the gift you chose, which you can then personalize.
Can I send multiple gifts to multiple people within one transaction?
Yes. If you want to buy multiple gifts for multiple people, you can do this all at the same time. You can also choose to send multiple e-cards and mail cards.
Will Concern send the card directly to my friend?
To minimize the costs of having someone work exclusively on this, we prefer to keep costs to a minimum by sending all the cards to you to personalize for your friends and family. This means even more of the money can go to the people who need it.
How long will it take to receive my gift(s)?
We always try to fulfill mailed orders within three days. So your mailed gift should arrive within five days. For e-cards, you can choose when you want it to be sent. You can send it right away or you can send it on a specific date. So if you've left shopping until the last minute, you can always send an e-card for instant delivery. Does all the money you raise go to the developing world?
In the fiscal year 2014, 90.8% of our expenditure was allocated to program activities.
